Installation: It Is Easy to Assemble, but the Instructions Can Be Confusing

Shark Navigator Lift-Away Pro NV355 1 The Shark Navigator Lift-Away Professional’s first benefit is its ease of assembly. The vacuum was assembled in a matter of ten minutes after it had been taken out of its box.

Instructions are clear and easy to follow. They also include diagrams that will help you identify and connect each piece.

However, there was some confusion as to which accessories were included. The vacuum’s Owner’s Guide is for a different model, the NV355 series. It includes a few additional accessories.

We were nervous when we first read the instructions. We thought we had missed two pieces. After consulting the Quick Start Guide, we discovered that the NV356 doesn’t include the Hard Floor Hero and the wide upholstery tool.

Performance: Powerful, Versatile

Shark Navigator Lift-Away Professional’s powerful suction proved to be very effective on hardwood floors and area rugs. The vacuum was very effective on many surfaces in our house, and we were pleased with its results.

We started by placing the Shark Navigator Lift-Away Professional in the most used area of our home, the hallway rugs. This is where dirt and debris accumulate. We were impressed with the vacuum’s ability to remove dirt.

We were extremely happy with the results of the vacuum we used on different surfaces in our house.

You’ll be happy with this…

We removed the portable canister from the main floor to clean other areas. This crevice tool has a narrow suction tube that works well in tight corners and hard-to-reach areas like furniture ledges and windowsills.

The dusting brush is a great choice for delicate upholstered household items, such as drapes, blinds, and window blinds. The pet power brush is also great for pet hair and dirt.

Although our dogs shed very little, we still see a lot of fur on stairs, where they frequently climb. This small tool was incredibly powerful and able to pick up any dirt particles and loose hairs we found.

The canister can be detached, and the vacuum can still be used in upright mode. This is a great configuration if you need to vacuum under furniture.

The vacuum can only be used in bare-floor mode if the canister has been removed. Also, the rotating brush cannot be activated if the canister has been removed. Although the vacuum can clean hardwood floors well, it cannot remove all dirt and dust from carpets.

How To Clean It

Shark Navigator Lift-Away Pro NV355 2

This Shark Navigator Pro upright vacuum can clean using a combination of suction and spinning brushes. The spinning brushes on the top of the vacuum help lift dust and dirt from carpet fibers.

Then, suction inside the vacuum aids in lifting the dirt off the floor and then into the dust bin.

The 2-in-1 design permits the Shark to be used as an upright standard or a more portable handheld canister type vacuum.

The canister part that makes up the Shark can be taken away from the unit’s handle, which allows users to easily transfer the unit from one room to another, sweep the stairs, or do other chores.

Its Shark Navigator vacuum cleaner includes several cleaning tools: the handheld wand, crevice tool, wide hose tool extension duster, and wand.

The additional accessories are specifically designed to tackle particular cleaning needs and offer the user a lot of versatility in how the Shark vacuum can take care of the cleaning.

Dimensions and Size

Shark Navigator Pro Shark Navigator Pro is an upright vacuum cleaner that is 45″ tall (or approximately 3.5′.). Its head is three” tall. It has a 9.5″ cleaner’s path that allows the vacuum to clean underneath most furniture and furniture accessories.

As an upright device, Navigator Pro is upright. Navigator Pro weighs 13.7 pounds, and when used as a handheld, the device weighs around 8 pounds. This makes it fairly simple to move, strictly from a weighted point of view.

Design

Shark Navigator Lift-Away Pro NV355 3

The style for Shark Navigator Lift-Away Pro is sleek and modern. Shark Navigator Lift-Away Pro is stylish and contemporary. This vacuum cleaner can be described as a 2-in-1 device that can transform from an upright into a handheld device with the push of a button.

Another important design feature is the new design of the debris container between the Shark Navigator Lift-Away (Standard) and Shark Navigator Lift-Away Pro.

The Pro DustBin has a slimmer appearance on the unit’s outside and an extended shape. This makes the dust bin appear slimmer yet still holds 2.2 quarters of dry debris, nearly twice as much as the Navigator Lift-Away standard.

Cleaning Tests

The tests below for the vacuum cleaner are intended to demonstrate what the Shark Navigator Pro vacuum performs on various surfaces and picks up various types of debris.

Hardwood: 93%

High Carpet: 61%

Low Carpet: 98 98%

Overall: 84%

We test the vacuum cleaner on three different flooring types: hardwood flooring, carpet with low pile, and carpet with high pile. For each type of floor, our test on the vacuum cleaner is:

  • Dry Cereal: 1 Ounce
  • Sugar: 3 ounces
  • Kitty Litter: 3 ounces
  • Rice: 3 ounces

The various types of debris were scattered throughout the testing area. The floor of our testing lanes comprises engineered hardwood flooring. Carpet tests are conducted using the low and a high pile on the top of the hardwood floor.

Our process for vacuum cleaning will be as consistent as fair, honest, and true to the real-world use feasible. Our tests follow the following procedures:

  1. Distribute the type of debris evenly over the central area of the testing lane.
  2. Check your weight in the full container and make notes about the cleaning performance.
  3. Use the vacuum cleaner to sweep the test track.
  4. Take note of how much weight is contained in the testing debris and that of the empty debris container.

Low Pile Carpet

Carpet with low pile was the type of carpet that this Shark Navigator Pro performed best. After comparing this vacuum to all the fields of debris. The lowest result came from sugar which was rated 91%.

  • Kitty Litter: 100%
  • Sugar: 91%
  • Rice: 100%
  • Cereal: 99%

The Shark vacuum lets you control the suction force during use. This is a major benefit for the carpet with a low pile. The aim is to eliminate any resistance while pulling or pushing the vacuum.

In this test, we achieved a seamless roll back and forth that enabled the vacuum to operate to a high degree.

High Pile Carpet

The carpet test with a high pile was a little more difficult. The suction was a bit more difficult to control, and consequently, the dust could not be easily cleaned. Although indeed, the Shark Navigator Pro did not do very well in the test, it can go back and clean up the mess.

  • Kitty Litter: 80%
  • Sugar: 69%
  • Rice: 74%
  • Cereal: 19%

Cereal was a challenge for the vacuum as when the brush roll began; the vacuum was sunk into the carpet. This meant that the cereal was elevated because the vacuum was being used.

After completing our usual test using our Shark Navigator Pro vacuum, we decided to go back and raise the suction level. Following this, the machine could penetrate deeper into the carpet and almost lift it back up.

While the vacuum might not be able to remove all the debris initially, you have the option of re-cleaning the debris using a greater amount of suction, and you are likely to see it work better.

The more suction levels make it more difficult to pull and push against carpets with a higher pile.

The vacuum cleaner is trying to grip the carpet, resulting in a more labor-intensive cleaning session. If you have high-slung carpets, you’ll need to alter the suction valve to ensure it is tuned to the best fit for your carpet.

Hardwood Floor

The Shark Navigator Pro vacuum performed excellently in hardwood flooring tests. All four debris areas scored at least 83% or higher.

  • Kitty Litter: 93%
  • Sugar: 96%
  • Rice: 99%
  • Cereal: 83%

However, we’d have loved to have seen the Navigator perform better at taking in the food.

Kitty litter, rice, and sugar weren’t a fit for this vacuum on hardwood floors. However, the cereal was likely to be moved around before being completely cleaned.

Shark Navigator scored approximately the same in kitty litter, rice, and sugar tests when compared against Shark Rocket and Shark Rotator.

However, it did boast an impressively higher cleaning of cereal than the different Shark models, scoring 83%, compared to the Rotator’s 65% and Rocket’s 77 percent.

Features of Shark Navigator Lift-Away Pro NV355

1. Usability

Regarding user-friendliness in terms usability, the Shark Navigator Pro is pretty user-friendly. Because this vacuum comes with various components and accessories, the initial setup could be a bit daunting. Once it is assembled, it’s easy to use.

The switch between handheld and upright mode is easy and quick. There are a few buttons and latches to use; however, nothing too complex.

Everything is clearly and easily labeled, making the transition easy and effortless.

When using the vacuum for an upright when you are on solid surfaces, you simply need to reduce your head’s height, pressing it with your feet.

When moving to carpets or rugs, you’ll need to press the power switch to level 2 to turn on your brush roll. Turning on the brush roll allows the vacuum to move the floor and eliminate any debris or dirt before suctioning it up.

2. Maintenance

The following table outlines the frequency you’ll likely need to replace various parts and components of your vacuum. But, your personal experiences will differ.

If you choose to follow the manufacturer’s recommendations, the cost per year to keep this Shark Navigator Lift-Away Pro model is about $60. Be aware that certain parts might not need to be replaced as frequently based on the frequency you utilize your vacuum (and how often you clean).

In addition, you can usually purchase a large portion of these replacement parts as bundles.

However, we believe the recommended schedule of replacement suggested by the manufacturer might be a little too aggressive.

We would suggest replacing foam filters and dusting pads each year and replacing the brush roll and HEPA filter and the brush roll once every two years is sufficient for the majority of users.

3. Noise

All reviews of vacuum cleaners published on Modern Castle are put through our normal noise test. In our noise test, we employ the sound meter to gauge the decibel levels that are approximately 3 feet distance from our vacuum.

At just 3 feet away at 3′, the Shark Navigator Lift-Away upright vacuum produces an incredibly loud 77 decibels.

4. Cleaning Performance

Finally, let’s examine the cleaning capabilities. Overall it appears that the Shark Navigator Pro did excellent on hardwoods and the carpet with a low pile.

Given how this upright model is currently selling at an incredibly low price, we would say that it is a bargain. Shark Navigator Pro is still an excellent price (especially when your house is mostly hardwood floors or low pile carpet.)

The initial cost covers an entire body and filter and a variety of accessories that create a machine that can be used throughout your home.

In terms of the guarantee and the return policies for the Shark, Shark is covered by a 1-year warranty and a 30-day return time. Both policies appear to conform to the industry norms.

The buyer is accountable for the cost of shipping back to the manufacturer. Additionally, the vacuum has to be registered within 10 days of purchase.

5. Maneuverability

The mobility of this Shark Navigator Lift-Away Pro is an incredibly difficult problem. As an upright vacuum and a handheld canister, the vacuum can make up for the shortcomings of its dual purpose.

For example, difficult-to-reach places for the upright can be easily reached by using the handheld. If the handheld becomes too heavy to move, it can be put back in the base to run like an upright.

In all honesty, we believe that the maneuverability is decent. The length of the cord permits maneuverability even in big spaces, and the hose’s extension can reach those tricky nooks and crannies.

As a handheld canister, we are not sure if it’s heavy to carry for an extended period; however, for spot cleanings, like baseboards and stairs, we believe it’s fairly simple to get into those areas that are difficult to clean.

In a perfect world, we’d love to have seen the handheld weigh less and be more comfortable for us to carry.

  • Weight: 13.7 pounds
  • Height: 3” cleaning deck
  • Hose Maximum length: 30 inches length
  • Power: 30″ cord
  • Width: 9.5″‘ Cleaning pathway
  • Turning radius: 45deg
  • Back Pivot: 130deg

6. Value

That’s why the million-dollar question: is the performance and quality worth the price? To assess the value of a vacuum is to look at the totality of aspects and features of the vacuum and then compare it with the cost.

Shark Navigator comes with accessories to suit different cleaning styles, so you don’t need to purchase the accessories separately. Maintenance costs are fairly minimal, and there aren’t many parts that require replacement frequently.

Who Should Purchase the Shark Navigator Lift-Away Professional vacuum cleaner?

Then is this the Shark Navigator Pro for you? After trying it out and comparing its performance to similar models, we would recommend it is. Shark Navigator Pro is an outstanding upright vacuum.

It’s a fantastic value, and its ability to change from an upright canister to a handheld canister offers the user a lot of versatility when dealing with stairs and other difficult-to-clean spaces.

We recommend that you purchase the Shark Navigator Lift-Away Pro if you’re searching for the following features of upright vacuums.

We liked having two vacuums in one unit – an upright vacuum that fulfills as an upright and a handheld canister, which is a wonderful feature and space-saving. It eliminates the vitality of switching between the two units and can also be a time-saver.

  • You may want to consider the accessories included – this vacuum includes a dusting brush and an 8 crevice tool of 8 inches, a pet brush: dust-Away floor attachment, and two microfiber pads. You enjoy a great range of possibilities and various ways to clean certain areas.
  • Are you looking for something powerful and light? The upright vacuum cleaner weighs 13.7 pounds, nearly 2 pounds less than the Shark Rotator. If you love the look and functionality of Shark, however, you’d like to go lighter on your feet, this could be the best option for you.

Conclusion
